Print Mixing with Leopard

Welcome to a THRIFTY New Year!

What better way to start the year off, than with a look that missed the mark, styling wise, because then I have nowhere to go but up, right??

LOL

I DID, however, hit the mark with the print mixing.

This Chico’s leopard print jacket ($8.00 ALLV) is yet another item that’s been taking up space in my closet for awhile now.

I wasn’t crazy about the style of it, but paired with this H&M turtleneck, I changed my mind.

🤔 After looking at these pictures, I decided that I’m still not crazy about the style of it.

I wore this look to go shoe shopping at Dillards and one look in their full length mirror and I felt SO self conscious.

It probably didn’t help that I was shopping in a bougie part of town.

What’s funny is, at home, I actually liked my outfit.

First off, that necklace was unnecessary and it kept jingle jangle-ing and I wasn’t here for it.

Also, I had cuffed my jeans under to make them more of an ankle length and then paired them with these loafers.

It looked horrible when I was trying on ankle booties at the store.

The whole look was just ONE. BIG. MISS.

Well, except for the print mixing.

I’m patting myself on the back, for that.

🤩

  1. Girl….I think you’re being a little hard on yourself!! It looks wonderful and the print mixing is spot on. (See what I did there)

  2. Hmmm. I like the jacket and I love the shirt – great job with print-mixing (I’m not the person to ask about that because I’m the world’s worst at doing it). And the jeans and loafers look really good together (even though you had to tuck them under…did you pin them so they’d stay put?) I can’t imagine why they’d look bad when trying on ankle boots, either. I wonder if you could just have the jacket taken in a little bit from the underarm through the waist area and you’d like it more? And the necklace is great but it’s a little “buried” in the design on the shirt so you probably could have done without any necklace. Were you just having an insecure day? At any rate, I do love that you post outfits that you don’t like or are having second thoughts about!

    1. Thanks Ruth!
I do like to keep it real over here.
You’re right about the jacket, it would look way better if it was taken in.
I think I was just really uncomfortable in what I was wearing….like, it was just too tight.
No, I don’t have to pin them, they just stay in place.

      1. Whaattt?!? How was that too tight? The lines of that outfit were fabulous on you!

  3. I think you look fabulous! You have the print mixing perfect. I don’t have the guts to try it. If I had a dollar for all the times I’ve felt the same way you did. That’s an awful feeling for sure, but trust me you look beautiful.

    1. Thanks Dawn! I haven’t felt that way in a long time. I felt like people were judging me and it’s an awful feeling.
As far as print mixing goes, I am really enjoying it. I just went to H&M and bought every printed turtleneck they had so I could do more print mixed outfits.
Thanks for always being so kind. 😘
