Today I thought I would share with you three outfits that I recently wore, that my MIL saw me in and offered up her opinion on…
of which I did not ask her.
“It’s cute on top, not on the bottom.”
I totally agree with her on this one. I would have preferred a dark wash denim BUT I was too lazy and didn’t feel like changing PLUS I was swayed by my husband’s opinion when he said that my behind looked good in these jeans.
This Brioni blazer was actually in the bag to send to ThredUp but I changed my mind. If you are a long time follower, you will remember that I scored this at the Salvation Army for under $9.00 and is valued around $1000.00. It has been my best score to date. I added the ‘fur’ collar I got from Buffalo Exchange.
“You look too nice, like you have money. Go change.”
I’m like, almost everything I’m wearing is from the thrift store. I’m wearing jeans and tennis shoes. I’m NOT changing.
We were on our way to the car dealer so that she could get a ‘new’ car and she didn’t want to look too nice , so she could get a better deal.
This look features a recent Savers score, this Ann Taylor turtleneck ($3.24). It also features this GW score (the owl necklace) the cost MORE then the turtleneck! ($3.50) That’s why I don’t purchase a lot of jewelry from the thrift!
“That’s really cute.”
I was going for comfort in this look. It was a bonus that it turned out to be cute too.
It was the texture that drew me to this Alfani tunic that I scored from GW in Ohio for $4.03. It has been in my closet for quite some time. I had contemplated donating it back without even wearing it. I’m glad I decided to try it on to see how it looked.
So there you have it. A glimpse into my world with my MIL!
